Introduction: SEEK - a Call to Prayer
From current conflicts across the globe to the challenges we face closer to home, the world feels heavy right now. Our church family hasn't been immune to its own trials and challenges these past months either, and many are also facing personal struggles.
In times of uncertainty, difficulty, or challenge, it is paramount that we seek the face of God, for it is in His presence that we find the peace, power, courage, clarity, and guidance that we need. And for times like these, the Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:6: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God".
This is exactly what we are going to do this week in response to a call we’ve been sensing to draw closer to God through focused prayer. That’s why we want to invite you to join us for three special days of prayer and fasting which we are calling ‘SEEK’.
Starting Tuesday 16th April through Thursday 18th April, we're calling the City Church family to concentrated prayer. Here's how you can participate:
PERSONAL PRAYER & FASTING: Dedicate time throughout these days for personal prayer and fasting. Pray wherever you are, for however long you can. Just click here to see the prayer points.
Fast in whatever way the Spirit leads you - whether it's abstaining from food, technology, or other items - to focus your heart and mind on seeking God. If you want to access teaching or guidance on fasting from food, click here.
PRAYER MEETINGS:
Tuesday & Wednesday at 7.30pm in the Foyer: all welcome, especially those who love intercession.
Thursday at 7.30pm: a major church-wide gathering in the Auditorium - a powerful time of prayer and worship for the entire City Church family.
Let us approach these days with anticipation and faith, knowing that when God's people humble themselves and seek His face, He promises to hear from heaven (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Thank you for your commitment to seeking God's face during this crucial time. May our prayers ascend as a sweet fragrance before the throne of God, may we sense His presence and His power in our midst, and may His kingdom come and His will be done in Cardiff and beyond as it is in heaven.
In Christ,
Pastors Dominic & Catherine

“When [the devil] sees a whole church on its face before God in prayer, he trembles as much as he ever did, for he knows that his day in that church or community is at an end.”
