Become a Member

Becoming a member is a great way to ratify a heart commitment that already exists; it’s a great way to express love, commitment and belonging to the church family.

Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole, not the other way around. The body we’re talking about is Christ’s body of chosen people. Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of His body. But as a chopped-off finger or cut-off toe we wouldn’t amount to much, would we?

- Romans 12:4-5, The Message

Applying for membership at City Church is the best way that someone can express, "This is my home; I want to be identified as part of this church family". It is also a helpful way in which a person can identify themselves to the church leaders as belonging to the group for which they are pastorally responsible and accountable before God. In addition, it is a practical way for church leaders to determine the church body - for example, when it comes to constitutional matters such as voting on elders, or when the Church Office is asked to provide a reference (e.g. school admission application), or when it comes to consulting on matters of church life.

If you’ve been attending for a little while and would like to find out more, please fill in the short form below to request the link to our Exploring Membership page - this has lots more about the biblical basis of membership and its wonderful benefits and privileges. It also explains more about the commitments of membership - what it means to come, connect, contribute and co-mission with us - and outlines the membership covenant between leaders and members. If you are ready to apply for membership, then the Exploring Membership section will also direct you to a short online application form.

We also encourage those who are thinking about membership to attend a short Exploring: Membership class - please see our Events page to find out about the next one.
