We need your support to carry out vital work to replace the roof above the platform area in the Auditorium and also the Function Room roof; this will ensure that we can continue to do life-changing, gospel-centred ministry from our building in the years and decades ahead.
THE PROBLEM
The two roofs cover our main worship space and the area where our Sunday kids and midweek youth work takes place (the Function Room). The Auditorium was built in the 1930s and the Function Room block was built in the 1950s. The roofs have reached the end of their lifespan and are now letting in water and need major work.
THE COST
It has been estimated by the builders that the cost to re-cover and insulate these roofs will be in region of £70,000. We need to raise this £70k above and beyond regular tithes and offerings (the latter which goes towards covering our normal monthly expenditure, which is usually around £40-45k per month).
THE WHY
If these roofs are not made watertight before winter 2023, it may well mean that we have to significantly change how we operate on a Sunday from our site on Cowbridge Road East - as well as all the gatherings, events and outreaches that happen in the building on other days. Church is of course not a building - but our building has been, and remains, vital in providing a base for all that we do in ministering to our members and having a space to reach out to those who are far from God or need a church home.
Over the decades the building has seen tens of thousands from all across Cardiff come in and experience something of the love and hope of Jesus; we have witnessed precious outpourings of the Holy Spirit, wonderful miracles, many hundreds coming to faith, and also shared beautiful, memorable moments as church family. We’ve raised the roof in worship - help us now to raise the roof funds so that the building can continue to be a blessing for current and future generations!

In the event that we raise surplus funds in this campaign we will direct this towards other essential building work and also initial plans to expand the back section of our site by building upwards in order to create more rooms for ministries like Kids Church and social action.
