Internship

At City Church we are passionate about raising up leaders and giving them the opportunity to grow in relationship with God.

Beginning every September, we start a 9-month internship where you will experience first-hand the adventure of church ministry life and have the opportunity to fiercely flourish in your giftings, as well as being challenged to go deeper in your relationship with God.

Here’s the key information

  • Serving 2-3 days each week (including Sundays)

  • Specialise in a ministry area such as Kids, Youth, Students & Young Adults, Worship, Production, Media, Justice & Missions or Pastoral

  • Specialist training and mentoring from staff and leaders, including involvement in weekly Team Meeting

  • Weekly leadership development sessions as part of the City Church Leadership School

  • Opportunity to grow in your faith and relationships through being part of a midweek small group (called a Collective)

  • Potential to visit and serve one of our justice & mission partners.

Practicalities

  • Applicants must be 18 years +

  • Applicants must be currently and actively involved in a local church. You will be expected to make City Church Cardiff your spiritual home during the Internship, with the blessing of your current church leader

  • The Internship starts mid-September and finishes mid-June

  • The Internship is free

  • Financial stability should be demonstrated by the beginning of the internship so having sponsors and/or pursuing part-time paid work is encouraged. Some flexibility will be given for this. Feel free to speak to us about any financial assistance we may be able to offer (e.g. contribution to travel costs or meals)

  • As well as support from your ministry leader, you will be overseen by the Associate Pastor who will do regular check-ins, including a 3 and 6-month review. You will also be able to arrange annual and/or study leave

  • Successful applicants will need to undergo a DBS check.
